How do you use an Individual License?

This is an on-demand license that can be used right after purchase. Here are the steps you can expect to take to get started:

Create a new Altium account or sign in to an existing one during checkout
Download and install Altium Designer using your Altium account
Run the software and start using your license right away

Who can an Individual License be used by?

This license can only be used by one person and is registered to a single email address.

Where can an Individual License be used?

This license can be used anywhere by one registered user.

How many computers can you use an Individual License on?

You can use an Individual License on any computer with your registered email address.

Can you upgrade the subscription level for an Individual License?

No, an Individual License can only be used with a Standard Subscription. If you’d like to upgrade to a different subscription level, then you will need to upgrade to an Altium Designer Business License first.

Can you transfer an Individual License to someone else within the same company or personally?

Individual Licenses cannot be sold through third parties, but you can reassign your license to a new email address once a month.

What if you have more than one user on your account that needs access to Altium Designer?

Only one user on an Altium account can be assigned to an Individual License. If you need to provide access to Altium Designer for more than one user, please upgrade to a Business License.

Can you share your account login with another person?

No, an Individual License account can only be used by 1 individual. Sharing an account login will violate the EULA and may result in your account being suspended.

What licensing method is available for an Individual License?

An Individual License uses an On-Demand licensing method. This allows you to immediately obtain a license from the Altium servers wherever you’re located. All you have to do is sign into your Altium account in Altium Designer and your license will be available automatically. You can also use this license offline for up to 30 days.
