Parent page: TextEdit Commands

The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

Applied Parameters: None

Summary

This command is used to delete all characters, back to the beginning of the first word immediately to the left of the current cursor position.

Access

Access to this command is made using the Ctrl+Backspace keyboard shortcut only.

Use

Simply position the text cursor at the required position within the current document and launch the command. The text deleted depends on the starting location of the cursor:

  • If the cursor is in the middle of a word, all characters to the beginning of that word will be deleted.
  • If the cursor is between words, the previous word will be deleted and the cursor will be positioned where that word began.

Using the command repeatedly will delete previous words in the document.

If you have any text selected in the document, then launching the command will remove that selection.

Tips

  1. The deleted text can be restored using the Undo command.
