ARUS is the Formula Student team of the University of Seville, based at the University's School of Engineering (ETSI). It was born in 2012 and only a year later its first combustion car was already running, becoming the first Andalusian team to compete in Formula Student. In 2018 when the first electric car was designed and built. Since then, two cars a year have been built. In the same year, they managed to win the first victories in their competition. In 2023 it switched to electric by adapting the battery to 600V, the maximum by regulation. Subsequently in 2024 also entered the category of autonomous, being the first of Andalusia and getting awards in our first year of autonomous, after being two years developing it. And for this 2025 we are going all out, from a tubular steel chassis to a carbon fibre monocoque, a powertrain with an engine in the rear to a 4WD system and all this with a new electric design of the car, with a new philosophy in the electronics of the car and a new battery to incorporate regenerative braking.

"This year the team has designed a complete new car sensor system, a new BMS system and a new power distribution system to the low voltage systems. This has meant that 86% of the PCBs have been upgraded year-on-year and the number of PCBs has increased by 126%. All this would not have been possible without Altium's software."
