The Edit Revision dialog
Summary
The Edit Revision dialog is used to modify properties for a planned item revision (i.e. initial revision of an item).
Access
After creating the next planned revision of an item, the dialog is accessed from the Lifecycle tab of the Explorer panel by right-clicking on the revision and selecting the Edit Revision command from the menu.
The Edit Revision dialog is only available if data has not yet been released into a revision of an item (in a managed content server) that is currently in the 'planned' state.
Options/Controls
- Name - the name of the item to be released.
- Description - displays any description associated with the item. Click in the text field to edit the description.
- Revision State - this is a non-editable field which displays the lifecycle state of this revision. Note that because data has not yet been released into this revision, the lifecycle state will be Planned.
- Ancestor Revision – the preceding revision from which this revision of the item has been created/branched. Click
to open a dialog to navigate to and select an existing revision. Click Clear to remove the current Ancestor Revision.
