This documentation page references Altium NEXUS/NEXUS Client (part of the deployed NEXUS solution), which has been discontinued. All your PCB design, data management and collaboration needs can now be delivered by Altium Designer (with Altium Designer Enterprise Subscription) and a connected Altium 365 Workspace. Check out the FAQs page for more information.

The Share with a Mechanical Engineer dialog is used to invite a user to collaborate on a managed projected that is available on an Altium NEXUS Workspace. The user will recieve the invitation through the email address provided. This dialog is accessed by opening the MCAD CoDesigner panel from a PCB document, selecting the Push and Share button from within the panel, then selecting Post.

The dialog can only be accessed if the managed project resides within an Altium NEXUS Workspace.

  • Email Address - enter the email of the user you would like to grant collaborative access to.
  • Add a Note (Optional)  - use this field to add an optional note to the user you would like to grant collaborative access to. The note will be dispalyed in the invitational email they recieve.
  • Share - select this button to invite a user to collaborate on a managed projected. When sent succesfully, a dialog stating "Invitation was sent successfully!" will appear.
Once a user accepts the invitation, they will be found under the Users tab of your Altium NEXUS Workspace. Click on their name to see their defined user role(s).
