Parent page: WorkspaceManager Commands

The following pre-packaged resources, derived from this base command, are available:

Applied Parameters: Action=Compile|ObjectKind=Project

Summary

This command is used to validate all source documents of the active project.

Access

With a source document for the project open as the active document, this command is accessed by choosing the Project » Validate Project command, from the main menus.

Use

After launching the command, the Compiler will check for logical, electrical, and drafting errors between the Dynamic Data Model (DDM) and compiler settings in the active project. Any violations that are detected by the Compiler will be listed as warnings and/or errors in the Messages panel.

The design connectivity model is incrementally updated after each user operation through dynamic compilation - there is no manual compilation. The Validate Project command uses Altium NEXUS's Compiler to perform validation of the source schematic documents only.

Tips

  1. A project is currently active when one of its associated design documents is active in the main design window.
  2. The Compiler uses the options defined on the Error Reporting and Connection Matrix tabs of the Options for Project dialog (as applicable to the project type), when checking the source documents for violations.
  3. For a PCB design project, use the Navigator panel to peruse the connectivity model for the compiled source documents. The Projects panel can also be used to browse components and nets for the design.

Applied Parameters: Action=Compile|ObjectKind=FocusedProject

Summary

This command is used to validate all source documents of the focused project.

Access

This command can be accessed by:

  • Right-clicking over the entry for a project in the Projects panel, and choosing the Validate Project command from the context menu.
  • Focusing the entry for a project, or one of its associated documents in the Projects panel, then clicking the  button at the top of the panel.

Use

First, ensure that the project you wish to validate is the focused project in the Projects panel.

After launching the command, the Compiler will check for logical, electrical and drafting errors between the Dynamic Data Model (DDM) and compiler settings in the focused project.

Tips

  1. An entity in the Projects panel is focused either by clicking on it, or right-clicking on it. To distinguish it as being the focused entry, it appears with a blue border.
