The following shortcut keys are specific to the Component Editor. For general information regarding shortcut keys - including access and editing, general Altium environment shortcuts, and accelerator keys - see Altium Designer Shortcut Keys.
When looking at the shortcut key listings, keep in mind the following:
Single Component Editing Mode |
|
Ctrl+X | Clear the contents of the Name, Description, or Id field and add it to the clipboard. |
Ctrl+C |
|
Ctrl+V |
|
Shift+Ctrl+M | Access the Manufacturer Part Search dialog in which you can browse for a required component across enabled supplier's online part databases. Once you select a component and click OK, the Use Component Data dialog will appear, allowing you to determine what data from that component you would like to bring in for the component you are defining (name, description, parameters, symbol, models, datasheets). Any defined Part Choices for the selected component will be brought in as well. |
F5 | Refresh the Component Editor. This is useful if, for any reason, you have lost connection with your connected Workspace. It ensures model links are refreshed and also, if the Component Editor is referencing a Component Template, it allows the data defined in that template to be brought in again, which is very helpful if you have inadvertently cleared content from read-only cells! |
