Applied Parameters: Object=Prompt

Summary

This command is used to delete objects from the current document. The command functions in two modes, catering for whether or not object(s) are currently selected in the workspace.

Access

This command is accessed from the PCB Editor and the PCB Library Editor by choosing the Edit » Delete command from the main menus.

Use

After launching the command, what happens next depends on whether object(s) are currently selected in the workspace:

  • Object(s) currently selected - the selection will be removed from the document.
  • No object(s) currently selected - the cursor changes to a crosshair and you will enter object deletion mode. Position the cursor over an object then click or press Enter to delete it. Continue deleting further objects or right-click or press Esc to exit object deletion mode.

Tips

  1. All deletions can be restored by using the Undo command.
  2. If an object is locked and you try to delete it, you will be prompted with a confirmation dialog alerting you to this and asking if you want to continue with unlocked objects only or both locked and unlocked objects.


Applied Parameters: Object=FOCUSED

Summary

This command is used to delete one or more selected design objects from the current document.

Access

This command is accessed from the PCB Editor and the PCB Library Editor by using the Delete keyboard shortcut.

Use

The object(s) must be selected prior to using this command. Once you have selected the object(s) you want to delete, launch the command and the selection will be removed from the document.

Tips

  1. Objects on the clipboard are not affected by using this command.
  2. All cleared selections can be restored by using the Undo command.
