Parent page: PCB Commands

The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

Applied Parameters: Axis=Horizontal

Summary

This command is used to flip the selected object(s) to the corresponding layer on the opposite side of the board.

Access

This command can be accessed from the PCB Editor and PCB Library Editor by:

  • Choosing the Edit » Move » Flip Selection command from the main menus.

Use

Ensure that only the objects that you want to flip are selected.

After launching the command, the selected objects will be flipped. For example, objects on the Top Layer will be flipped to the Bottom Layer; objects on the Top Overlay will be flipped to the Bottom Overlay, etc.

Tips

  1. Use the Undo command to restore the flipped selection.
  2. Designator and Comment text becomes mirrored after a flip action.
  3. For a pad that exists on the Multi-Layer, flipping will essentially reverse the order of its XY size pairings and shapes. Therefore, if a style of Top-Middle-Bottom has been used and the shapes are initially Round-Rectangle-Octagonal, flipping will reverse the stack and thus the shapes from the top will become Octagonal-Rectangle-Round.
