The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

Applied Parameters: None

This command is used to search the current PCB Library document for user-specified errors, such as duplicate footprints or missing pad names.

This command is accessed from the PCB Library Editor by choosing the Reports » Component Rule Check command from the main menus.

After launching the command, the Component Rule Check dialog opens. Use this dialog to set the attributes for which you want to test. After clicking OK, a report titled <LibraryName>.ERR is generated and opened as the active document. Each component footprint that is found to be in error is listed, along with the specific tests that it failed.

  1. The report will be added to the Projects panel as a free document under the Documentation\Text Documents sub-folder.
