The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

Applied Parameters: None

Summary

This command is used to search the current document for user-specified errors, such as duplicate pin numbers or missing footprints.

Access

This command is accessed from the Schematic Library Editor by choosing the Reports » Component Rule Check command from the main menus.

Use

After launching the command, the Library Component Rule Check dialog opens. Use this dialog to set the attributes for which you want to test. After clicking OK, a report is generated (LibraryName.ERR) and opened as the active document. Each component that is found to be in error is listed along with the specific tests that it failed.

Tips

  1. The report is stored in the same location as the library document and is added to the Projects panel as a free document under the Documentation\Text Documents sub-folder.
  2. When checking for duplicate pins, only the first instance will be reported for each component. If more than one duplicate exists, this will not be reported separately.
