The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

This feature is used to move a single object or a group of selected objects within the current document.


This command can be accessed from the Schematic Editor and the Schematic Library Editor, by clicking and holding on an object in the workspace.


Simply position the cursor over the object to be moved (or one of the objects in a selection) and Click&Hold to drag the object to the required position.


  1. To maintain connectivity when using this feature, ensure that the Always Drag option is enabled, on the Schematic - Graphical Editing page of the Preferences dialog. Alternatively, use one of the Drag commands instead.
  2. Press the Alt key while moving, to constrain the direction of movement to the horizontal or vertical axis, depending on the initial direction of movement.
