Parent page: Schematic Commands

The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

Applied Parameters: None

This command is used to remove a component from the current document.

This command can be accessed from the Schematic Library Editor in the following ways:

  • Choose Tools » Remove Component from the main menus.
  • Right-click then choose Tools » Remove Component from the context menu.

First, ensure that the component that you want to remove is selected in the Design Item ID list in the SCH Library panel (and is therefore the active component in the main design window).

After launching the command, a confirmation dialog will appear asking whether you want to proceed with the deletion. After clicking Yes, the component will be removed from the library document and the next component (below) in the Design Item ID list will become the active component.

  1. Multiple components cannot be deleted using this command. If you do select a group of components from the list (using standard Ctrl+click and Shift+click selection techniques) and launch the command, only the last component to have been included in the selection will be deleted.
  2. Components can also be deleted directly from the SCH Library panel. Select the component(s) required in the Design Item ID list, then either click the Delete button below the list or right-click then choose the Delete command from the context menu. If using the panel to delete components, multiple deletions can be carried out.
