Exporting a Design to MathWorks CSV File Format from Altium Designer

Supporting your need to work with design files in other formats and with other tools, Altium Designer provides an exporter to export your PCB layouts to the MathWorks® CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file format that enables fast and accurate signal integrity analysis that supports complex layer stacks, split planes, as well as via and pad stacks.

To access MathWorks CSV file format export capabilities in Altium Designer, the MathWorks feature must be enabled for your installation of Altium Designer. This feature is enabled in Altium Designer by default. It can be enabled/disabled after installation.

For more information about changing installed core functionality, refer to the Installing & Managing page (Altium Designer Develop, Altium Designer Agile, Altium Designer).

Backward compatibility of defined MathWorks outputs in an OutJob file in Altium Designer 24.6 (and later) is not supported. As such, outputs will not be visible when opening the OutJob in an older version of Altium Designer. SiSoft outputs configured in an OutJob file in a previous version of Altium Designer will, however, be transformed into MathWorks outputs when the file is opened in Altium Designer 24.6 (and later).

To access this feature, choose the File » Export » MathWorks command from the PCB Editor's main menus. In the Export File dialog that opens, specify where the exported set of CSV files is to be stored. By default, this will be the same folder as the parent project. While the File name field is suggestive of a single file being generated with a given name, this field is used to determine the prefix used for the generated files.

With name and location specified as required, click Save. Once the export has been completed, an Information dialog will appear to confirm; click OK in this dialog.
